Talas Beneng has a high economic value because almost all part of this plant can be put to use. For example, tubers as food ingredients, stem as animal feed ingredients, and leaves with zero nicotine content as raw material for herbal cigarettes.
Talas Beneng has a height of more than 2 meters and a harvestable lenght that can reach up to 1.2-1.5 meters.
The weight of this stem tuber also reaches 35 kg – 45 kg if harvested at 2 years of age.
Research shows that Xanthosoma Undipes has fairly good nutritional content.
Taro Beneng has potential export demand from the Netherlands, South Korea, India and Turkey.
