Coffins are commonly made of wood, but the craftsmen in Trangsan Rattan Tourism Village, Central Java have succeeded in innovating rattan coffins that have been exported to various countries in Europe, Especially to Germany, England and the Netherlands.

The coffin, which features rattan as its main material, is in great demand by foreign consumers because the material easily decomposes in soil, and can also reduce the negative environmental impact of funerals. 

In addition to being environmentally friendly, the raw material of rattan makes the coffins are made by hand and must go through a weaving stage that requires precision and patience to get the best results.
